Revenue Development Foundation in Cameroon
RDF launched its first project in Cameroon in 2015 with funding from
the German International Cooperation (GIZ).
The project, Improving Integrated Tax Revenue Management Procedures, was launched at the beginning of 2015. Its key goal is to increase revenue collection by strengthening the collaboration and the exchange of data between government departments which will improve compliance procedures and ultimately tax compliance.
After an initial technical evaluation and a review of the compliance procedures carried out by RDF a new platform was launched in August 2015 which allows the sharing of data between Customs and the Revenue Authorities to facilitate improvement in the management of Value Added Tax (VAT) credits and reimbursements.
The launch of the platform, called RD FUSION, enables Customs and the Revenue Authority to share, view, and use the data in one place, allowing the two departments to work together more efficiently.
How DGI Cameroon use RDF systems
For the second year, almost 10,000 companies have submitted their tax return online using the GovIn e-service portal. DGI Cameroon use the RD Tax Administration System (TAS) to issue the tax invoice and manage the help desk. RD Fusion is used for risk management to target tax audits and verify VAT reimbursements.
