Mali launches its Online Repository, making mining data available to the public and enhancing transparency.

Through technical support from RDF and funding from the German Cooperation Agency GIZ, the Government of Mali has launched its Online Repository that makes data on mining available to the general public. The webpage contains data on all mineral rights managed by the National Geological and Mining Agency (DNGM), related payments and maps.

The Online Repository was pre-launched on November 6th and was officially launched on November 18th during the “6èmes Journées Minières et Pétrolières du Mali”. The Online Repository was officially launched by the Minister of Mines and is now available to the public.

The Online Repository is part of a broader technical assistance project that aims to strengthen the management and governance of the natural resource sector in the country. As Mali is a validated country member of the Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative (EITI), the Online Repository makes valuable data and information available to all stakeholders.
